Clearly, the current issues of profiling, stereotyping, and marginalizing African American and Latino males have had negative and chilling effects on their academic progression in education.  There is significant evidence to establish that these factors lead to the presumption of “a lack of success” by these young men.  

Summit participants have an opportunity to address the problems and potential solutions that are becoming more pervasive throughout higher education literature and from practitioners in this field.
