The cardiovascular technology AS degree prepares you to perform diagnostic studies on patients in order to quantify cardiac disease, including coronary arteriography, hemodynamic monitoring and analysis, and electrophysiology studies. The training enables you to assist cardiologists in interventional therapeutic procedures, including coronary angioplasty, rotablator procedures, intra-coronary stenting, pacemaker insertion, and radio frequency ablation.
HCC partners with Edison College to teach this program jointly. HCC offers the general education portion and assists with the cardiovascular coursework. The program is delivered via distance learning technology with two-way audio/video interaction, but requires some travel to Edison College in Fort Myers.
