Brandon Campus Advisory Council – End of Year Report: 2007 – 2008

The BCAC for the 2007-2008 school year has fulfilled its commitment to Dr. Stephenson’s charge to the council. The BCAC members have shared information and sought input from their colleague and peers.
Our CAC has fulfilled council charge in the following ways:
- created a support mechanism of bringing issues to the surface that need attention
- improve quality of staff
- dispense information
-create a culture that discusses changes within our institution

Our year began with Shannon Grinstead as Chair and Mickey Reigger as Co-Chair of the Brandon Campus Advisory Council.
The BCAC mission for 2007-2008 school year was to increase communication.
Increased communication efforts consisted of the following:
BCAC flyers encouraging staff and faculty participation were created along with a written address form that could be submitted in place of an absence.
Dr. Soto made almost every BCAC meeting to give campus updates on the following topics:
Campus Security being enhanced in two capacities:
Security added to cover parking areas
Deputy on campus throughout the day
Brandon Advantage Center
New entry way updates
Budget forecasts
Renovation updates on campus
Enrollment/Recruitment efforts
Century 21 classroom projects
Falling ceiling tile repairs

Recycling bins to campus areas/classrooms

Promotion of Campus Services/Locations/Hours
Increase Participation in Open Dialogues with College President
Employee use of HCC issued email accounts

Hawkeye newspaper interview with Campus Presidents to promote 40th Anniversary
