Academic Advisors are available on a walk-in basis to help students create an educational plan and select appropriate courses. They evaluate transcripts, interpret placement scores, explain degree requirements and provide information about transferring to senior institutions. Students should consult an advisor before registering for classes to receive an advising guide for a particular degree program. Students can also access Advising Guides at http://www.hccfl.edu/Student/services/advisorhandbook/guides.html (link needs updating).
For info on HCC college-wide policies and procedures, please visit our District Student Services pages at http://www.hccfl.edu/Student/services/otherservices.html (link needs updating).
The HCC catalog for the past three academic years can be accessed at http://www.hccfl.edu/student/catalog/index.html (link needs updating).
Students are strongly advised to meet with an academic advisor the semester before their prospective last semester in order to ensure that all degree requirements will be met, and to apply for degree by the deadline. Students may also apply for degree online via Hawknet (link needs updating). Students pursuing an AA or transferable AS degree should also make sure that they have met all CLAST (College-Level Academic Skills Test) requirements. The CLAST exam is offered in February, June, and October of each year. If you are unsure whether or not you need to take the CLAST, contact an academic advisor.
