The Orientation will last about 2 hours. If a student does not show up to their Orientation session, a hold will be placed on their file and they will not be able to register for classes until they reschedule and complete an Orientation session.
Orientation provides students with information regarding course selection, college policies and procedures, an overview of student services available on campus and general information necessary for students to start college.
Upon completion of an Orientation, you will be ready to go online to HawkNet and register for classes.
Step 6: Paying for Classes & Books
Tuition must be paid on the day that you register OR by the delayed payment deadline listed in the HCC schedule booklet. - Students may pay for classes at the Bursars (cashiers) office by cash, check, credit card (Master Card or Visa)
- Students who have received an award letter from the Financial Aid Office should make sure they have accepted the award. No trip to the Bursar's office is necessary. If you have not received the award notice by the delayed payment deadline ask financial aid if you qualify for a tuition deferment. A deferment will hold your classes while you wait for awarding.
- Bright Futures, Florida Prepaid and Scholarship recipients must go to the Bursar's window and indicate they want their tuition charged to their account.

Step 8: The First Day of Class
Check the building number and room number on the schedule you printed from Hawknet. It is recommended that the student becomes familiar with the campus prior to the start of class. Campus maps are available at the Information Desk.
It is strongly recommended that you arrive early on the first week that classes begin to avoid parking headaches.
REMEMBER: If you do not show up on the first day of class, you are still financially responsible for payment unless you drop the class by the deadline.
