I decided to write this testimonial because the writing center has helped me a lot in improving my writing skills.
When I started my classes at HCC, I did not know HCC had a writing center. I was very happy because I’m from Colombia and English is not my first language. The staff at the Brandon center is really dedicated and concerned about helping students to improve their writing and to make sure we are not just completing papers to get a good grade, but to really learn.
I remember a paper I needed to write for my English class, for a film we watched in class, I was very confused about citations and also I needed help organizing my ideas. Sharon came to my rescue and spent a lot of time with me reviewing my paper and providing me with all the guidance to have an excellent paper.
I’m really thankful with all the staff; all of them without exception are knowledgeable and patient. Also I find very helpful the grammar sheets the staff create for students to take home and keep it as reference.
I think I will keep coming here until I finish my school because they are a great help especially for student that are not from this country.

I am writing this testimonial because of the tremendous amount of help I received from the writing center.
When I started college, I was overwhelmed by the many papers that were assigned to me. It had been many years since I had attended school and my writing skills were a little rusty. When I found out about the Writing Center, through my English class, I made an appointment. This decision helped me to achieve success on my papers and in my English classes.
I received help from the Writing Center in grammar, content, and citations. Sharon and the staff helped me improve my writing skills, which helped me achieve success in my classes and on papers. I contribute the good grades I have received on my writing assignments to the help and guidance I received from the Writing Center. I strongly recommend their services to everyone.
