Information on the H1N1 Virus for Students, Faculty,
and Staff of Hillsborough Community College

The Hillsborough County Health Department, in consultation with The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the local medical community, has advised that “almost all influenza or flu-like illness that occur this year will be due to the 2009 influenza (H1N1) virus.” As has been widely reported, this strain of the flu has been spreading worldwide, yet its effects appear to remain relatively mild at this time. With the expected impact of this virus on our campuses, Hillsborough Community College wants faculty, staff, and students to stay informed about the steps we can all take to remain healthy. Recognizing the dynamic nature of this illness and its impact on our community, HCC’s administration continues to closely monitor the situation and is prepared to make any necessary changes in action or policy. We have created this website to provide you with the latest information.  Any new information will be posted to this website, and we will utilize the college's communication network including email for employees, Hawkmail for students, Campus Cruiser, and Hawk Alert to help keep you informed.
