| THE DEPARTMENT OF INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH (IR) AND GRANTS |
The function of the Department of Institutional Research (IR) is to support research-based planning and evaluation processes of the college. Among other things, the Department administers the Institutional Survey Program, develops the annual Fact Book, calculates enrollment data, maintains official data archives, serves as the IPEDS “gatekeeper,” supports major academic assessment initiatives, and leads the Institutional Review Board.
As a unit of the Division of Strategic Planning, Research, and Management Information Systems, IR works in conjunction with the Department of Management Information Systems and the Office of Strategic Planning & Analysis to leverage the use of research and data to support strategic decision-making and policy formation for the College.
