Wastewater Operators "C" License
|
The Wastewater Operators "C" License Certification program offered by our Institute is the first step to starting a career in wastewater treatment! This course will prepare you for employment as a wastewater treatment plant operator, or provide supplemental training for persons currently employed in this field. It will also prepare students for the "C" License exam offered through the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. This course includes lecture, group discussions, wastewater treatment plant visits, lab work, problem solving, and demonstrations. Completing this course meets the requirement of the State of Florida for 155 hours of classroom instruction.
The non-credit course is offered at the HCC Plant City Campus.
Our next courses will begin in the Fall of 2013. Class meetings will be held Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00pm - 9:00pm and Saturdays from 10:00am - 3:30pm. The class will meet at the Plant City Campus. The course runs approximately 15 weeks.
The course fee is $450, which does not include the books required for the course. The two books that each student will need for the course are published by the Sacramento State Office of Water Programs and will be valuable resources to help you throughout your career in the water treatment industry. The titles are "Operation of Wastewater Treatment Plants, Volume I" and "Operation of Wastewater Treatment Plants, Volume II." You can order these books using the links below, or use a website that sells textbooks to get used copies or earlier edition of the manual.
