English for Academic Purposes
Even if students demonstrate sufficient English language proficiency for admission purposes, all new students must take placement exams to determine whether they require English for Academic Purposes (EAP) courses prior to enrolling in other college courses. Upon arrival in Tampa, students must report to their International Student Advisor in order to obtain a referral for the CPT (College Placement Test).
English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Program
The EAP Program is designed to help students develop the academic language skills necessary to effectively participate in an academic setting at HCC. Students improve their performance in four skill areas: Grammar, Writing, Reading, Speech & Listening.
