Highlights from Past Events

March 14 to April 1, 2012: HCC representatives travelled to Seoul, South Korea; Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; Jakarta and Surabaya, Indonesia. 

October 2011:  2nd Annual Fall StudyUSA Community College (CC) Fairs in Vietnam

CIE staff participated in the 2nd Annual Fall StudyUSA Community College (CC) Fairs organized by Capstone Vietnam. Prospective students in Ho Chi Minh City, Danang and Hanoi met with HCC representatives to learn more about the advantages of studying at Hillsborough Community College.

March/April 2011: Indonesia Pre-Mission Education Tour and Education Mission 2011: Indonesia & Vietnam

In April, HCC joined Education Mission 2011: Indonesia & Vietnam, led by the U.S. Under Secretary for International Trade, Francisco Sanchez. TheMission brought representatives from a wide-range of U.S. universities, four-year colleges, community colleges and English-language programs to two of the fastest growing markets in Asia – Indonesia and Vietnam.

Preceding the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Higher Education Mission,ACCESS Education Beyond organized a Pre-Mission Education Tour for a number of the Mission participants to five fast-growing cities across Indonesia –Denpasar, Surabaya, Balikpapan, Palembang, and Medan. The Pre-Mission Education Tourwas designed to maximize contacts of participating U.S. colleges and universities with prospective students at local schools and universities. Each stop included visits to top high schools, university partnership meetings, government and media briefings as well as a higher education fair.  

February 2011: EducationUSA Community College Fair in Central America, February 2011

CIE staff participated in the first-ever EducationUSA Community College Fair in Central America. The fair provided HCC with an opportunity to dialogue directly with interested students in Nicaragua, El Salvador and Guatemala and educate them about the programs and options available at the College.
