This is an exciting opportunity for Summer 2014! HCC, in partnership with Community Colleges for International Development, Inc. and Cross-Cultural Solutions, is offering globally minded students a truly unique international volunteering opportunity in Ghana. Experience the
vibrant culture and welcoming hospitality of the people of this West African nation and make a lasting impact on the local community while earning credit for IDS 2100!
At a Glance:
• 5-week service learning course with an emphasis on international volunteering.
• One-week field experience in Ghana, May 10th – May 17th, 2014.
• Serve as a volunteer from 8 a.m. to noon in orphanages, education and the health fields.
• Explore Ghana’s rich history and heritage—Learn about the slave trade era and visit holding quarters, participate in traditional West African drumming and dancing lessons, visit a batik and textile community, and play with friendly monkeys at a local sanctuary.

Eligibility: Must have completed at least 45 credits towards degree and submitted the application on or before November 5th*
*Students who already completed ENC 1101 or fulfilled their IDS credit are welcome to audit the course

*Scholarships to cover half of the in-country costs will be awarded to qualified students. Students will be responsible for roundtrip airfare and half of the in-country costs, which include meals, accomodations and field trips.
