TRIO Student Support Services Program (TRIO SSS): Social & Cultural Enhancement Component

The federally-funded TRIO SSS provides a variety of academic support services to eligible students. Upon acceptance into the TRIO SSS, students participate in a number of intensive services to earn participation credits, for their involvement and active participating in the Programs extra curricular events and activities.

The Social & Cultural Enhancement Component enables the students to thrive intellectually and culturally; while developing their leadership skills in a multicultural learning institution. The program also provides students with an opportunity to attend the Florida Association of Education Opportunity Program Personnel (FAEOPP) Leadership Conference to enhance their leadership skills.

During the fall and spring semesters the Social & Cultural Enhancement Component provide students an opportunity to perform in the TRIO annual fashion show, visits to the Tampa Bay Performance Arts Center (TBPAC), Ebony Fashion Show benefit of Derrick Brooks Charities, Inc. MLK Leadership Breakfast sponsored by Tampa Bay Organization on Black Affairs (TOBA), Museum of Science and Industry (MOISE), community luncheons and banquets throughout the year.
