Internship/Practicum Opportunities
An Internship can be an extraordinary experience for a student. Culinary Majors must complete five-2 credit hour practicums before they graduate. Each practicum is 16 weeks long and requires the student to work a total of 125 hours. See Program of Study for suggested practicum flow.
Hospitality Majors must complete one-3 credit hour Internship and work a total of 125 hours.Their work experience should be involved in all areas of the company, examples would be: front desk, housekeeping, sales and service.
The intern learns about the occupation, work environment, pressures and rewards of the company’s area of emphasis. Additionally, the intern gains work-related experience and develops interpersonal skills which showcase the intern as a potential employee.
