The College Entry Level Placement Test is not a "pass" or "fail" test. Its sole purpose is to assist us in determining your best course for placement, so if you have not had an algebra course in years, you would not be expected to do well in this area. We have included in this site sample questions to help you better understand the Placement test before you take it. It will provide more detailed descriptions of each area (Reading Comprehension, Sentence Skills, Arithmetic and Elementary Algebra). Take time to review and practice the sample questions before taking your placement test.
Some helpful resources for students include any GED or high school equivalency study guide, basic arithmetic and algebra books, and materials covering basic grammar and sentence skills. Be prepared to do your best!
