Thinking about a career change?

Why not consider teaching!

The Hillsborough Community College Educator Preparation Institute offers an alternative avenue to begin teaching in Florida public schools. Graduates of the program earn an Alternative Preparation Certificate and are qualified to take the Professional Education Competency Exam.

The Florida Department of Education estimates that 29,604 new teachers will be needed for the 2006-07 school year. If you are interested in a teaching career, and hold a non-education baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution, then the Educator Preparation Institute (EPI) may be right for you!

The EPI program is 21 credit hours and includes four modules:

  1. The Instructional Process
