HCC has not developed, imposed, maintained, approved, or implemented any student eligibility criteria that discriminates on the basis of race, color, national origin, gender or disability.  HCC has an open-door admissions policy for all programs as seen by the admissions policy stated in the catalog.

The general admissions policies for the college also apply to the career and technical (i.e., vocational) programs. Limited access programs use an additional set of admissions criteria focused only on the academic and/or legal requirements for the programs.

HCC ensures that requirements related to site selection and modifications and has not selected or approved sites to exclude, segregate, or otherwise discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, gender or disability.Sites are readily accessible to both minority and non-minority communities, and no sites are identified as intended for specific minority or non-minority students.  The sites are spread throughout the county for the convenience of all the county’s residents.  All offer the AA transfer program; each has a selection of technical programs.

HCC has not added to, modified, or renovated the physical plan of any vocational facility in a manner that has created, maintained, or increased segregation in any form. The Public Service Training Center is readily accessible to minority and non-minority communities.  The center currently houses the following programs:  Fire Science, Auto Collision, Motorcycle Training and some portions of Law Enforcement.

HCC does not establish, approve, or maintain geographic boundaries that unlawfully exclude students on the basis of race, color, national origin, gender or disability. Hillsborough County is the catchment area for HCC.  Students may attend any of the 6 campuses or centers to obtain the Associates in Arts degree.  To obtain an Associate in Applied Science, Associate in Science, or College Credit Certificate students may have to attend different locations based on the program centers, i.e. the Nursing program is offered at the Plant City and Dale Mabry Campuses and Auto Body Collision is held at the Ybor City Campus only.  However, Computer Science Programs are available at all locations. Consequently, Hillsborough Community College’s attendance zones do not have the effect of discriminating on the basis of race color, national origin.
