Schenecker Memorial Fund
Endows HCC- High School Art Program
HCC Foundation Annual Report 2011-2012
This year’s competition was especially meaningful because of the gift entrusted
to HCC from the Schenecker Memorial Fund. It allowed HCC to honor Calyx and the
joy that art brought to her, as well as recognize other promising artists. The HCC
Foundation provided scholarship awards to nine students who placed first, second
and third in three art categories.”
Dr. Adrienne Garcia, Executive Director of the HCC Foundation
For the past 11 years, Hillsborough Community College has hosted
a county-wide Fine Arts Competition Showcasing Hillsborough High
School students, giving local students an opportunity to display
their talents and receive recognition for their accomplishments in
the visual arts. A generous gift from the Calyx and Beau Schenecker
Memorial Fund will sustain this longstanding relationship between
Hillsborough County high schools and Hillsborough Community
College into the future.
My family and I are honored to partner with HCC to
give extremely talented young people an opportunity to
exhibit their work to the entire community. I can’t think
of anything Calyx would have loved more than to have her
name associated with this great event. The chance to let
the Tampa Bay community know Calyx better through the
arts is a gift to me and those who loved her.”
