FINANCIAL AID
APPLY FASTER WITH FREE APPLICATION FOR
FEDERAL STUDENT AID (FAFSA).
Be sure to complete your 2013-2014 FAFSA
EARLY at fafsa.ed.gov.
How To Apply
Make sure your (and parents’ if required) 2012 federal
tax returns are completed prior to completing the
FAFSA application. You may renew your FAFSA for the
2013-2014 school year anytime after January 1, 2013, by
using your 2012 IRS tax return(s).
You will need a PIN in order to electronically sign your
application online. You may request a PIN by accessing
pin.ed.gov.
Add HCC’s school code (007870) as your first choice of
schools to receive your application results. Allow three
to four weeks to process.
Meeting the Priority Deadline will guarantee a timely
disbursement.
COMPLETE THE FAFSA APPLICATION NO LATER
THAN SEVEN (7) WEEKS PRIOR TO THE DATE
CLASSES BEGIN.
To ensure that your financial aid file is processed before
the payment deadlines, you are advised to submit all
required financial aid forms by the following dates:
• Fall 2013 – June 18, 2013
• Spring 2014 – November 12, 2013
• Summer 2014 – April 11, 2014
Need to check the status of your financial aid or
see what forms are required?
• Go to HCC’s HawkNet website, hccfl.edu/
hawknet.aspx.
• Click on
WebAdvisor.
• Use the same user ID and password that you use to
log on for online registration.
• Check your HawkNet email account weekly.
• Correspondence from District Financial Aid Office is
sent to student’s respective HCC HawkNet-Campus
Cruiser email.
Once logged in, you may access the following
information:

Communications/My Documents
View the documents outstanding to complete
your financial aid file.
For the 2013-2014 academic year, the out-
standing documents will have the year noted
with the
Description
of the form (i.e. Student
Agreement & Acknowledgement Form 13/14).
The
Status
column will indicate
Not Received
and the
Due Date
column will read
ASAP
.
Once the documents are received, the Status
column will indicate
Received
and the Status
Date will indicate the date the Financial Aid
Office received the forms.
Financial Aid Forms
• Go to
HawkNet-WebAdvisor
under
Financial Aid
.
• Click on
Financial Aid Forms
and select the
award year.
• Download and print all the required forms
stated under
My Documents
.
• You must complete HCC’s Financial Aid
Student Agreement and Acknowledgement
Form.
• You must provide your official high school
transcript or GED to the campus Admissions
Office.
