United with Veterans
HCC-Plant City’s partnership with MacDill Air Force Base unites
the campus to the City of Tampa through academic programs
and flexible growth opportunities. HCC offers classes on
the base for members of the military and other students
as space allows. Students may take classes at MacDill
while enrolled in regular term classes at other HCC
campuses.
MacDill classes are offered in accelerated
formats to accommodate military personnel
who have short rotation periods between alert
schedules. Most courses are offered on evenings
and weekends, and a popular new format brings
students together for class on Friday nights with a
portion of the curriculum completed online. A ten-
week online program is also available. Curriculum
choices include general education courses,
humanities, social behavior science, criminology,
education, and business.

The teachers at MacDill are passionate about their topics and never hesitate to go the
extra mile. Many of them still work in their industries, so they bring real-world experience
and opportunities into the classroom. I appreciate that my family’s military benefits allow
me to take MacDill’s quality courses at in-state tuition rates.”
