What do I need to do to graduate? Isn’t it automatic?

Students who have completed 40 hours or more should meet with an academic advisor to determine what requirements must be met in order to graduate. The student may then complete an Application for Graduation on the campus or apply via HawkNet.

No, there is no fee or cost to graduate.

When can I apply for graduation? Is there a deadline?
A:
There is a deadline each semester to apply for graduation. Please check here: Academic Calendar for the next deadline date. The date is also published in the HCC catalog and Student Handbook.

Is there a ceremony each term?
A:
HCC has only one ceremony which takes place at the end of the spring term. Graduates and candidates who graduate during any term in the academic year (September through August) should consider participating.

Is there a limit to the number of family members and friends I can invite? Do they need to show an invitation to get in?

Currently, HCC does not limit the number of guests nor do they require an invitation for admission.

Where do I go to purchase a cap and gown?
A:
The HCC Bookstores located on each campus sell caps and gowns, honor cords and graduation invitations. These items are usually available in late March. The cost is generally under $25. More specific information will be posted in early spring.

When will I receive my diploma?
A:
Diplomas are printed and mailed approximately six to eight weeks after the end of the semester. It is the responsibility of the student to have a correct permanent address on file in the on-line system. Updates can be made at the Admissions, Registration & Records Office on your campus.

Is there a charge for parking at the Florida State Fairgrounds?
A:
Yes, the Fairgrounds charges $5 for cars and $10 for RVs and buses.
