Florida Prepaid Program Information
The Florida Prepaid College program is a state of Florida administered program providing Florida families a means to save for future college education. Florida Prepaid provides colleges such as Hillsborough Community College (HCC) with an electronic file of eligible students that can be billed to the program. Payments made to HCC by Florida Prepaid are on behalf of the beneficiary and are applied to the beneficiary’s (student’s) account.
Effective Spring 2011, Hillsborough Community College (HCC) will automatically apply payment for all Florida Prepaid Program students that are enrolled for Fall, Spring and/or Summer terms for the maximum amount allowed. Payment is limited to the amount of Tuition Plan credits remaining in your prepaid account.
If you have a Florida Prepaid Account with hours remaining, payment will be automatically applied to your HCC account once you register. Payment for any charges that your Florida Pre-Paid Plan does not cover can be paid in full, online through HAWKNET. Check your HAWKNET account at www.hccfl.edu to determine that Florida Prepaid has been applied and to pay any remaining fees not covered by Florida Prepaid by the scheduled payment deadline date.
HCC does not accept partial payments.
You may also pay the portion not covered by the Florida Prepaid Program at any Bursar Office located on each campus.
Please Note: HCC must have your Social Security Number (SSN) on record for this service to function. If you have not provided HCC with your SSN but would like to take advantage of this service, please stop by any campus Admissions Office to have your account updated.
If for any reason you do not want Hillsborough Community College to automatically bill the Florida Prepaid Program for tuition charges, please complete the information at the bottom of the Florida Prepaid Program Opt Out Form. This includes students that are dual enrolled or whose tuition is being covered by a third party. If you choose to Opt Out and you are not dual enrolled or covered by a third party, you will be responsible for payment of any tuition charges. The deadline for opting out is the last day of drop/add period for regular 16 week terms. Please refer to the college calendar for specific dates.
This form is available at any Campus Bursar Office as well as on the Bursar Web-Page.
