HCC Foundation

State funding for higher education in Florida has not kept pace with increased costs and enrollment growth.  Since Florida community colleges have an “open door” policy, HCC is committed to making a quality education accessible, affordable and available to all citizens.  The college seeks private support to continue quality instruction, provide varied career and workforce preparation programs and offer scholarship assistance.

An HCC education enables students to increase their earning power and raise their living standard and also provides students with life long learning opportunities. In fact,

  • Students who earn an Associate Degree will make 112% more money annually than those who do not complete high school and 36% more than people who get a high school diploma or GED
  • Students with a two-year college degree will earn $315,672 more over a lifetime than someone with a high school diploma or GED
  • Students enjoy a 26% rate of return on their HCC investment in less than 6 years.

Successful businesses depend on HCC students and graduates for their well-trained workforce. This improved labor pool influences the success of businesses and creates a positive economic impact on the Tampa Bay community.  The Foundation actively seeks corporate funding partnerships that nurture and enhance this critical economic incubator.
