National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC)

Each autumn, the NCHC council holds its annual meeting in a major U.S. city. The four-day conference program features presentations and workshops addressing broad philosophical issues facing Honors education as well as daily pragmatic concerns of Honors students and educators. Dr. Lydia Lyons is currently the Immediate Past President of NCHC and will hold the organization's cumulative four-year leadership position through 2010. This year's conference was  held in Washington, D.C. from October 28- November 1, 2009. Next year's NCHC conference will be held in Kansas City. 

Florida Collegiate Honors Council (FCHC)

FCHC is an intercollegiate Honors program activity that acts as a forum for sharing information about and improving the quality of Honors programs in Florida. Lauren Furry, Honors Coordinator, is the Past President of the FCHC. 

National Society for Collegiate Scholars (NSCS)

NSCS is an Honors organization that recognizes academic excellence and leadership achievements. The Honors Institute of Hillsborough Community College is the first charter chapter of community colleges. A minimum GPA of 3.6 is required of members. Membership is by invitation only.

Southern Regional Honors Council (SRHC)

Honors directors and students from the 11 southeastern states meet each spring for the annual SRHC conference. Workshops and presentations are given by attendees whose proposals were accepted. Your director was elected twice to the SRHC Executive Board and was elected as the Executive Secretary/Treasurer (3-year term that placed HCC as the official headquarters for SRHC); the Honors Institute hosted the organization's annual conference in 2000.
