Three Honors professors invite you to explore downtown Tampa!
Friday, April 4
4:00 p.m. Plant Hall Tour (401 W. Kennedy Boulevard)Honors professor Dr. Barbara Goldstein is a docent at the Henry B. Plant Museum; we won’t be going through the actual museum, just the building and noting the architecture. Dr. Goldstein will let us know about the importance of the building.
5:00 p.m. Eat On Your Own in Downtown Downtown has lots of little restaurants from Eddie and Sam’s Pizza to a Taco Bus. Sadly, the downtown location of Five Guys has closed. (Dr. Daniel loved it! Those fries!)
6:30 p.m. Tampa Museum of Art (120 W. Gasparilla Plaza) A brand new exhibit is on display from the Graphicstudio featuring 100 contemporary works that push technical and conceptual breakthroughs. On Friday evenings, the museum is free.
Parking The easiest parking access is the William F. Poe Parking Garage at 800 N. Ashley Drive. Professor Lemke recommends parking here and walking to UT’s Plant Hall (about a 10-15 minute walk). The garage takes either cash or credit and is generally cheaper and easier than on-the-street parking. For street parking, the meters also take credit cards; you might have to park several blocks away. Give yourself enough time.
RSVP by Friday, April 4 at 10 a.m. to email@example.com.
See you there,Barbara Goldstein, Travis Meek, and Dustin Lemke
