DR. SARAS SARASVATHY (DARDEN SCHOOL OF BUSINESS). A discussion about what makes an entrepreneur successful. Dr, Sarasvathy is a world renowned thought leader and researcher on the topic of the entrepreneurial mind and method.

EVENT 2: FRIDAY OCTOBER 10, 2014: (10am-11:30AM) BUILDING A LIFESYLE BRAND. Branding a product or service is critical in business. There are many financial challenges associated with that process. Learn what a lifestyle brand is, why it is important, and how to go about building a lifestyle brand. Hosted by Tampa Bay Business Owners, Chris Krimitsos.

EVENT 3: FRIDAY OCTOBER 24, 2014: (10am-11:30AM) STARTUPS ON A BUDGET. Learn about what it is like to launch a new business idea. One of the hardest parts of pursuing an entrepreneurial idea involves the financial management of the entire process. In particular the early stage startup period is critical in being able to dictate the success or failure of a business. Learn how to successfully start a new business venture on a budget. EVENT 4: FRIDAY OCTOBER 31, 2014: (10am-11:30AM) NETWORKING. In life it can be said that a persons success is a result of their own hard work, but also a function of other people that served to help that person move along in life. This concept is known as “It takes a village”, a general understanding that your success in life is the result of many forces around you pushing and guiding you along. Today, because of the advent of technology, there is a similar mindset in that it “takes a network.” A network of contacts that you establish with business leaders, teachers, friends, family, mentors etc. Learn about the importance of building a network, and how it can help you professionally, and equally important how you can help others.
EVENT 5: FRIDAY NOVEMBER 7, 2014: (10am-11:30AM) AS SEEN ON TV.
EVENT : Saturday NOVEMBER 15, 2014: (10am-4pm) SECOND ANNUAL VETERANS ENTREPRENEURSHIP TRAINING SYMPOSIUM (VETS). A one-day seminar for Veterans to learn about entrepreneurship, discover the robust array of support services available in the Tampa Bay Entrepreneurial ecosystem, network with fellow entrepreneurs, get inspired, and explore the academic programs and opportunities at HCC.
EVENT 6: FRIDAY NOVEMBER 21, 2014: (10am-11:30AM) PERSONAL BRANDING. You have already learned about lifestyle branding (if you attended the second workshop). In this workshop, learn about the importance of your own personal brand. Learn about the importance of your online social media persona. How do others perceive you, why is it important to think about who you are, and how you desire others to see you.
EVENT 7: FRIDAY DECEMBER 5, 2014: (10AM) in DLRC 106. This event will be themed around Financial Literacy, and will feature speakers from the Florida Prosperity Partnership.

EVENT 1: FRIDAY JANUARY 24, 2014 (10am-12pm). Entrepreneurial Spirit, a panel discussion. Learn about what it takes to be an entrepreneur, and to think with an innovative mindset.
EVENT 2: FRIDAY FEBRUARY 14, 2014 (10am-12pm). CEO Roundtable 1. Hear from several local CEOs that run their own businesses, and ask them questions.
EVENT 3: FRIDAY FEBRUARY 28, 2014 (10am-12pm). Business Financial Challenges and Successes. Learn about real financial successes and missteps that entrepreneurs and managers confront on a regular basis.
EVENT 4: FRIDAY MARCH 28, 2014 (10am-12pm). Social Media Hits and Misses. Learn from social media experts about how you can leverage the power of social media to benefit your business enterprise.
EVENT 5: FRIDAY APRIL 11, 2014 (10am-12pm). CEO Roundtable 2. As a follow-up to the first CEO Roundtable, this discussion will involve an extended conversation about external forces, such as the economy, government regulations etc., and how they affect decision making at the executive level.
EVENT 6: FRIDAY APRIL 25, 2014 (10am-12pm). Leadership Insight. In the format of the “TED TALK” speaker events, this event features a diverse selection of motivational talks from individuals that will inspire you.

EVENT 7: FRIDAY JULY 25 THROUGH Sunday JULY 27, 2014. Startup Weekend. A 54 hour event where entrepreneurs pitch an idea on Friday evening, form a team, and work over the weekend to launch a company by Sunday evening.
