Throughout the year, the HCC Innovation Sandbox offers a host of innovative and exciting events and programs designed to enrich entrepreneurial learning, provide opportunities for networking, and bridging HCC with the community.
EVENT 3: FRIDAY OCTOBER 24, 2014: (10am-11:30AM) STARTUPS ON A BUDGET. Learn about what it is like to launch a new business idea. One of the hardest parts of pursuing an entrepreneurial idea involves the financial management of the entire process. In particular the early stage startup period is critical in being able to dictate the success or failure of a business. Learn how to successfully start a new business venture on a budget. EVENT 4: FRIDAY OCTOBER 31, 2014: (10am-11:30AM) NETWORKING. In life it can be said that a persons success is a result of their own hard work, but also a function of other people that served to help that person move along in life. This concept is known as “It takes a village”, a general understanding that your success in life is the result of many forces around you pushing and guiding you along. Today, because of the advent of technology, there is a similar mindset in that it “takes a network.” A network of contacts that you establish with business leaders, teachers, friends, family, mentors etc. Learn about the importance of building a network, and how it can help you professionally, and equally important how you can help others. EVENT : Saturday NOVEMBER 15, 2014: (10am-4pm) SECOND ANNUAL VETERANS ENTREPRENEURSHIP TRAINING SYMPOSIUM (VETS). A one-day seminar for Veterans to learn about entrepreneurship, discover the robust array of support services available in the Tampa Bay Entrepreneurial ecosystem, network with fellow entrepreneurs, get inspired, and explore the academic programs and opportunities at HCC. EVENT 6: FRIDAY NOVEMBER 21, 2014: (10am-11:30AM) PERSONAL BRANDING. You have already learned about lifestyle branding (if you attended the second workshop). In this workshop, learn about the importance of your own personal brand. Learn about the importance of your online social media persona.
