Phi Theta Kappa Events Summary
The Alpha Lambda Alpha Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa is gearing up for an explosive year! Working under the umbrella of the four hallmarks of Phi Theta Kappa: Fellowship, Leadership, Scholarship, and Service, we have an exciting calendar lined up. Our main focus this year is to incorporate these hallmarks in every event while empowering our members and expanding their Phi Theta Kappa Experience. We also plan to continue on the success of our efforts to guide and help our peers complete their educational goals and/or graduate before transferring.

We kicked the year off on Saturday, January 28, with one of our community service projects: Adopt-A-Spot Cleanup. Chapter members along with some family members gathered around 10 am to pick up trash along East Columbus Drive and the campus parking lot. The cleanup lasted about two hours. After cleanup, volunteers gathered on campus for fellowship and debriefing. This opportunity allowed us to socialize and discuss the event of the day while enjoying a light refreshment of pizza.

Other events to look forward to include the following: Five Star Membership Development Workshops (February 25 and March 31), Scholarly Summit (March 16), Adopt-A-Road Cleanup followed by Bar-B-Q (Broadway Avenue, March 17), Commit2Complete Sessions, and Relay for Life (April 14). Furthermore, we hope to make a splash at our Regional Convention in Jacksonville (March 2-4) and at the International Convention in Nashville (April 12-15).

Meanwhile, we are proud to announce that our chapter is currently ranked #1 in the number of five star leaders from over 1250 Phi Theta Kappa chapters worldwide. This incredible feat was the result of our strong, dependable, and outstanding executive board and has allowed our chapter to set the bar for active student involvement and engagement. It has also allowed us to represent HCC impeccably in all our endeavors as we continue to strive for excellence.
