On February 7, 2012, former Mayor Pam Iorio visited Hillsborough Community College’s Dale Mabry Campus to give a presentation on leadership and referenced her new book, Straightforward: Ways to Live & Lead. An excellent example of leadership, Pam Iorio was elected as mayor of the city of Tampa in 2003 and reelected in 2007. During her terms, the crime rate declined by 61.5%, and she was able to triple Tampa’s financial reserves.

Sponsored by the Honors Institute with a reception by the Dale Mabry Student Government Association, Pam Iorio’s presentation was informative and enlightening. She elaborated on various topics throughout her book: developing leadership qualities, leading with integrity, coping with change, and living a centered life.
