Dental hygiene student members of the Student American Dental Hygiene Association (SADHA) collected donations for The Spring , Hope Children’s Home, and Metropolitan Ministries during the Thanksgiving-Christmas holiday season.
The Spring of Tampa Bay is the Department of Children and Families certified Domestic Violence Center for Hillsborough County. The mission of The Spring of Tampa Bay is to prevent domestic violence, protect victims, and promote change in lives, families, and communities.
Hope Children’s Home cares for children in need between the ages of 2 and 18 by providing them with the essentials of living and education, and stepping in for absent parents. Students made it their mission to collect an assortment of household cleaning supplies and disposable household items that helped meet holiday-related needs of the home.
The goal of Boxes of Hope was to provide a complete holiday meal for a family of four.The SADHA Club is well-known for their volunteers’ spirit during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday donation drives. Students took pride in giving back to the community as well as understanding their role as a professional health care provider.
