HCC was privileged to be able to help the City of New Orleans in the weeks following Tropical Storm Isaac when their local resources for garbage trucks and front loaders had been depleted. Mary Kay Kleinpeter-Zamora, the City’s Chief Procurement Officer, reached out to a few of her Florida purchasing colleagues, including HCC, to find additional vendors who could quickly rent equipment to New Orleans. HCC’s Purchasing Department spread the word to its local purchasing contacts and within a couple of hours, HCC and the cities of Tampa and St. Petersburg identified several vendors, one of whom came through for New Orleans. HCC’s purchasing staff was glad to be able to help New Orleans in some small way towards its recovery efforts.
