Two hundred twenty-eight (228) generous donors, including HCC faculty, staff, and administrators, participated in the 2012 HCC Internal Campaign. Gifts from HCC employees send a strong message that they are invested in HCC and its role in supporting students and enhancing our community. More than $41,000 was raised with 78% of cabinet and 67% of administrators contributing. Campaign participation of all employees has remained at the 22% to 24% range for the past several years, although our goal is to reach 100% participation. Thanks to all employees who gave to the campaign.

The majority of internal donors designated their gifts to Endowed Funds. These permanent funds are created to insure the principal balance remains intact and the interest generated is designated for annual scholarships or other projects. A gift to an endowment fund will continue to give in perpetuity. Annual gifts rise and fall according to the state of the economy and donors’ priorities, so an endowed fund will insure a more stable source of support year after year. This is important as more and more students depend on financial assistance for tuition and books. Financial stability is important when economic times are difficult as our students’ finances and jobs might be in jeopardy.

Support for conducting the campaign is offered by the Campus-Foundation Liaison Committee, with reps from each campus meeting regularly to discuss strategies, hosting campus events, and personally inviting co-workers to get involved in the campaign. Please thank them when you see them on campus.
