Dear Future or Current HCC Plant City Campus Student,
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Plant City Campus of Hillsborough Community College. This campus has existed and thrived since 1976 because of the support of the wonderful people who live and work in Northeast Hillsborough County. We have gained that support by constantly identifying new local needs and striving to meet them.
The largest area educational need we meet has been to provide the opportunity for area citizens to earn the first two years of a baccalaureate degree. About 55 percent of our 7,500 annual student enrollment are pursuing that degree.
To further support your bachelors degree goals, we have maintained a long-term agreement with the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences of the University of Florida. Northeast Hillsborough residents may pursue one of four University of Florida bachelors degrees, or one masters degree, without ever leaving the Plant City area.
In addition to providing the first two years of a bachelors degree, we have responded to your continuing requests for more local job training programs by tripling the number of such programs offered here since 1999. An additional job-related service we offer on this campus is the One Stop Center of the Tampa Bay Workforce Alliance, which can assist you in getting a job.
Finally, we are privileged to operate for the community the John R. Trinkle Community Center, a gem of a civic center. The Trinkle Center can seat up to 2400 people in auditorium mode or 1600 banquet-style. We are proud to offer this fine facility to the community.
