| The District Board of Trustees of Hillsborough Community College is authorized to provide lower level undergraduate instruction and to award associate degrees and certificates to ensure that the College meets its primary mission of responding to community needs for postsecondary academic and career degree education.
The Board of HCC was granted the authority to award degrees by the State of Florida, the State Board of Education, and the Florida Department of Education [Florida Statutes, Section 1004.65(6)(a)(b)]. Additionally, Florida Administrative Rule 6A-14.030 contains the basic requirements and courses of study authorized by Florida Statutes for the Associate in Arts, Associate in Science and Associate in Applied Science degrees for community colleges.
