Hillsborough Community College administrators and staff have the necessary credentials, experience, and abilities for the positions they hold. HCC administrators are recruited nationally to ensure that the best pool of candidates from which the position is filled is available. All College administrators and their educational credentials are listed in the HCC Catalog (HCC Catalog, pp. 279-280), which is also available on the HCC website.
Hillsborough Community College makes available information on the credentials, qualifications, and experience of administrators and academic officers (Credentials of Administrators) through the College's Office of Human Resources. A recent review of HCC administration found that 47% possessed higher degrees than those required for their positions. Additionally, 69% of administrators possessed 10 years or more than the experience required for their positions (Administrative Analysis).
Hillsborough Community College administrators are evaluated annually by their immediate administrative supervisors (HCC Administrative Rule 6HX-10-3.18). Additional information regarding this evaluation process can be found in Comprehensive Standard 3.2.10.
Additionally, HCC conducts periodic reviews of selected positions to ensure that their descriptions and functions are relevant (Board Meeting Minutes).
