| Computerized Placement Test (CPT) |
| |
New, transfer or returning students may be required and/or eligible to take all or part of the Computerized Placement Test also known as the Postsecondary Education Readiness Test (PERT). Since this test is typically only taken once, it should be taken seriously. The scores from the CPT determine which courses a student may register for. Students who place into Prep Courses are required to complete those courses before moving on to College Level courses. This may extend the time it takes to complete an academic program.
We highly recommend that students review the PERT Prep Guide before taking the test. This Guide will familiarize you with the types of questions that will be on the Placement Test.
NOTE: EMT, Paramedic, and Automotive Technology students may be required to take the Accuplacer instead of the PERT. Please check with an Advisor if you are unsure about which test to take. Students taking the Accuplacer exam should review the ACCUPLACER Prep Guide
