Hillsborough Community College

Hillsborough Community College Student Support Services is a federally funded program serving 200 students per year. It is designed to serve low income and first generation students (neither parent received a bachelor's degree).
The program provides opportunities for academic development, assists students with basic college requirements, and serves to motivate students toward the successful completion of their postsecondary education. The goal of TRIO Student Support Services is to increase the college retention and graduation rates of its participants and help students make the transition from one level of higher education to the next.

Among the many services we provide are:

• Tutoring in major areas
  
• Trips to various major state universities (lodging and travel paid)
  
• Workshops on financial aid, study skills, and the transfer process
  
• Cultural and enrichment activities
  
• A mini-computer lab
  
• Advising
