Katherine Moyse

Biography

Katherine Moyse received her BFA from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1974 in Drawing, Printmaking and Art History.  She continued her studies at the University of Northern Colorado and received her MFA in Drawing and Printmaking in 1976.  After relocating to Florida she continued her studies in Humanities and Fine Arts at the University of South Florida, completing thirty more hours of post graduate studies.

She has been teaching full-time Faculty at Hillsborough Community College Brandon and Ybor campuses for 20 years. 

Her mission at the College has been to provide students with the fundamentals of Drawing as well as advanced projects in experimental and traditional mark-making.  She also provides students with a fundamental understanding of the media, methods, and history of art in order to provide a solid aesthetic for further artistic investigation.

Influences:    

I was most strongly influenced by the works of Miriam Schapiro and Judy Chicago early in my career.  In terms of technique, Kathe Kollwitz remains my most powerful influence.
