Dean Jack Evans has been with HCC for the past 15 years after completing a 30 year military career with the United States Marine Corps. He began as a program coordinator and a counselor at MacDill. He has also taught psychology for the past 20 years. As the Academic Dean of Associate of Science and Technical Programs at the Ybor City Campus, Dean Evans oversees 14 full time faculty and over 200 part time faculty in Criminal Justice, Paralegal, Fire Science Technology, Business, Accounting, Office Systems Technology, and Early Childhood Education. He supervises many of the technical programs for the college such as the Police and Fire Academies, Auto Collision, Automotive Repair, Child Care, and Radio/TV Broadcasting. Many of these programs have recently relocated to a larger facility at 56th and Columbus Drive to accommodate the practical application for workforce training.
Dean Evans has reached out to the International Community by offering Fire Science credit classes to the country of Barbados in partnership with Barbados Community College. His International interests also include a grant with the United States State Department through the Community College for International Development.
Dean Evans holds a Master of Arts Degree in Psychology, Guidance, and Counseling from the University of Colorado and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Nebraska.
