Hillsborough Community College - Overview

Hillsborough Community College is a public, comprehensive community college serving the residents of Hillsborough County, Florida.  The College has provided a quality contemporary education to a large and diverse community since it’s founding in 1968.  HCC has grown from a single campus to an institution that ranks fifth in size among the state’s 28 community colleges and currently serves approximately 40,000+ students at its Ybor City, Dale Mabry, Brandon, Plant City, and South Shore campuses.  Additional instruction is offered at numerous satellite college centers throughout the county, including MacDill Air Force Base and HCC’s District Administrative Office Building located on Davis Island.

HCC – Ybor City Campus

HCC’s Ybor City Campus was established in 1974 and has the advantage of being located in a national historic district that dates back to the 1880s.  The surrounding community has preserved its Latin heritage and international flavor, and today it has become the City’s hub for multicultural events, entertainment, live performances and art exhibits.
