John Bueno - Auto Collision Repair and Refinishing Academy - Program Coordinator / Lead Instructor
With over 37 years of experience in the auto industry, John Bueno brings a vast knowledge of experience to the auto collision repair program at Hillsborough Community College. His career spans from being a technician to a car builder and a business owner. Considered an expert in his field, Bueno has earned a number of state, industry and manufacturers certifications, one of those being ASE Master Technician Certified.
Graduating at the top of his class from Daytona State College’s auto collision repair program in 1982, Bueno has since spearheaded thousands of repairs, restorations and custom fabrication projects. He is passionate about passing his knowledge and experience to all that are willing to learn.
Jeff Leary - Auto Collision Repair and Refinishing Academy - Instructor
Born and raised in the Sunshine State, Jeff Leary has taken advantage of all of the opportunities growing up in Florida has offered him. While attending Land O' Lakes High School, Jeff became eligible to work while attending classes through an on the job program promoting workforce training. Being that cars had always been his passion as a child, he sought employment in a collision repair shop in Tampa.
After graduating High School, Jeff solidified a job as a painter by the age of 18. Since then he has never looked back. From restoration work, to major body collsion repairs, Jeff gained a tremendous amount of experience in the collsion repair and refinishing industry. A painter and body man since 1994, Jeff brings over 19 years of experience to the job he states he has always wanted; teaching the trade he loves at Hillsborough Community College.
Mario Mirabal - Automotive Service Technology Academy - Program Coordinator / Lead Instructor
Of Puertorican descent, Mario Mirabal began his career in mechanics with the US Navy as a nuclear machinest. In 2001, Mario began working in the automotive industry and has accumulated over 13 years of experience in the industry. He is a master technician, certified in all areas of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) and is also part owner of a local shop in the Tampa Bay area. Certifications include but are not limited to; Snap-On diagnostic certified trainer and Toyota certified master diagnostic technician.
Jake Rollison - Automotive Service Technology Academy - Instructor
An avid classic cars enthusiast with over 10 years of experience, Rollison is a graduate of Midlands Technical College and a Toyota Master Technician. His specialties include A1 engine repair, A2 autmatic transmissions, A3 manual transmissions, A4 Steering and Suspension, A5 Brakes, A6 electrical systems, A7 heating and AC, A8 Engine performance, L1 Advanced level specialist, FADA certified technician.
Christian Ross - Automotive Service Technology Academy - Instructor
Kentucky native, Christian Ross has a diverse career spanning from nine years with the U.S. Army to teaching automotive courses at California’s Barstow Community College. He is ASE certified in Engine repair, suspension and automatic transmissions. Ross has over 20 years experience in the automotive industry.
Carlos Segui - Automotive Service Technology Academy - Instructor
Automotive instructor, Carlos Segui began his career as a dealership service technician and soon became certified as an Automotive Service Excellence Master Technician, Advance Engine Performance Specialist and a Toyota Master Diagnostic Technician. He has a passion for teaching and looks forward to helping his students develop skills to continue growing in the automotive industry. Hobies include motorsports, car modifications and customization.
