The following local websites and narratives are offered for your review:
Academy Prep of Tampa - A school for middle-school aged children from low-socioeconomic backgrounds.
Meals on Wheels - An organization that provides meals to the elderly and home-bound individuals in the community.
Metropolitan Ministries – Metropolitan Ministries assists the homeless and those at or near the poverty level.
The Crisis Center - The Crisis Center provides a wide range of services to members of the community who have emergency needs.
United Way – HCC promotes donations to United Way.
Heart Walk – HCC participates in the annual Heart Walk.
Ybor Sunshine Fund - For sixteen years the Sunshine Fund has been a vehicle by which full-time employees at the Ybor City Campus have shown their colleagues that they care. Flowers are sent from the fund when an employee is hospitalized or has lost a close family member (parent, spouse or child.) Through fundraising events and from donations from the Campus Family the fund has flourished.
Ybor Book Fund - The Ybor Campus maintains a very small scholarship fund to help students with documented emergencies afford their textbooks and supplies. This is a one-time award. To qualify, students must have documentation of extenuating circumstances beyond their control and must already be registered for classes in the semester for which aid is sought. Bear in mind that because of the limited funding available, only the most extreme cases can be served. Please see an Academic Counselor for more information.
