Shelly Wagers is currently an Adjunct Instructor for the Department of Criminology at the University of South Florida. She received her Bachelor's degree (1994) in Public Health Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and her Master's degree (2005) in Criminology from the University of South Florida (USF). She is currently in pursuit of her PhD in Criminology at USF. She has extensive teaching experience and served as a Department Chair for Remington College. Her areas of research and teaching specialize in Domestic and Interpersonal Violence, Criminological Theory, Research Methods, Criminal Investigation, Law Enforcement Systems, and the Criminal Justice System. Ms. Wagers has also served in an administrative capacity for St. Leo University’s On-Line program and at USF as an academic advisor. In addition, Ms. Wagers has extensive experience in field, developing educational programs for the prevention of domestic and sexual violence and has consulted with local domestic violence agencies and task forces and served as a law enforcement officer in Pinellas County.
