The Criminal Justice Program is located at Hillsborough Community College‘s Ybor City Campus. Most Criminal Justice courses are offered at Ybor City Campus only; however, certain introductory core courses are offered regularly at the Dale Mabry Campus and the South Shore Campus as well.
The Criminal Justice Program is comprised of full time professors and adjunct instructors assigned to Ybor City Campus.
The Criminal Justice Program offers students different Tracks of emphasis based on the student’s educational and professional goals – law enforcement, corrections, pre-law, crime scene, homeland security, private security, and social services; however, students are not required to select a track. Tracks are offered only to help guide students in selecting their courses.
Some Criminal Justice courses are required and all majors must take them while other Criminal Justice courses are electives. Generally, required courses are offered every semester whereas elective courses are offered once a year, usually either during the fall or the spring semester.
Criminal Justice classes are offered during the day and evening as well as on weekends and some are offered on-line.
The schedules outlined in this section are subject to change based on instructor and room availability as well as on student needs and interest.
Students entering college for the first time must take the Florida College Entry Level Placement Test (CPT) unless they have ACT or SAT scores from the last two years. The CPT is used for placement reference General Education courses.
