ONLINE COURSE INFORMATION

In the Summer 2008 term, HCC introduced a new version of the online course software.  From the Hillsborough Community College Home Page you will find a link to "Online @ HCC".  Online courses cannot be entered until the posted first day of class.  If you are having difficulties logging in to your course, check the information below. 

(1) On the "Online @ HCC" login screen you will see information stating the system is either AVAILABLE or UNAVAILABLE.  If the system is showing as UNAVAILABLE, you will not be able to login.  This is usually a temporary interruption due to server maintenance issues and the system will normally be restored within a few hours.  Just try again after a period of time.  We are also notified when service interruptions occur and if the outage prohibits you from reaching a course deadline, please call our office at 813-253-7779 for additional instructions or arrangements.  You will not fail the course or be penalized due to the system being unavailable.

(2)  If the system is available, make sure you are logging in properly.  The older "WebCT" login data is not the same with the newer "Online @ HCC" data.  When logging into the system for the first time, use the first initial of your first name, the first initial of your last name and your seven digit HCC student ID number for both the login and password entries.  Once you are "IN", the system will prompt you to change your password to something of your choosing.  If you previously changed your password and have forgotten it, follow the instructions on the login screen for "I forgot my password."

(4)  Once you have logged in, you should see your course listed.  Click on the course, find the syllabus and follow the instructions.  There is an internal mail (like email) system within the program that you can communicate directly with your instructor.
