Parking Frequently Asked Questions
1. Where can students park?
Palm Avenue Garage located on the corner of 9th Ave and Nuccio Parkway.
2. Will I have to pay a parking fee at the Ybor City Campus?
No, there are no initial parking fees that students are responsible for to park at the Ybor City Campus.
3. What are the hours that a student can legitimately park?
In the Palm Avenue Parking Garage, the hours of operation are:
Monday - Friday (6:00AM - 10:00PM); Saturday (6:00AM - 6:00PM);
Sunday (Closed for Student)
During Winter Break, Spring Break and major holidays, students are not allowed to park in the garage. Please park on the street.
The Student Services Lot is available for students to park with official student services business. Students are to park in the middle two rows. Visitors are to park in the first row. HCC Ybor City campus has added six Hybrid spaces and four carpool spaces to this lot. Full-time Faculty and Staff are to park in the northern row and will be allowed access with the Hawkcard through the gate arms.
4. What if I am just here to wait on someone?
You may wait for someone provided you do not leave your car unattended. However, you may be asked to move your vehicle in the event that you are blocking traffic.
5. What if my car gets hit in the parking garage?
Report this immediately to the HCC Public Safety Officer who is patrolling the parking garage or report it to the HCC Public Safety Office located on the first floor of the Ybor Building.
6. Do we have security escorts to our car?
Security escorts are not formally provided; however, if you have a special need, it is your responsibility to notify the Security Office in advance and a determination will be made as to the whether the assistance is feasible. Their phone number is 813-253-7911.
7. What should I do if I get a violation from the City of Tampa?
If you feel that you were wrongly given a violation, please email the following to email@example.com: copy of violation, copy of parking decal, copy of ID, copy of student schedule and a written appeal as to what happened. If you have any questions please contact the parking services coordinator at 813-253-7626.
8. How do I get my parking decal?
All students are to apply for their decal online which requires the vehicle license plate number for each vehicle. A student can only obtain 2 decals. Once the application has been submitted you are ready to pick up the parking decal at the Public Safety office located in the Ybor buildling room #111 and please bring your hawkid. Student parking decals are good from the Fall semester through the end of Summer semester. All students are to renew their parking decals in the beginning of the Fall semester. New Students that are starting for the first time in the Spring or Summer semester must obtain a new parking decal.
9. What if I have a disabled parking permit?
Parking spaces for students with disabilities are available on each floor of the Palm Avenue Parking Garage as well as the north row of the YVAB lot. They are available to HCC students who have a state approved disabled parking hang tag or license plate. The spaces are clearly identified with blue paint and signage.
10. Where can I pick up a parking decal and a map of the campus?
These items are available in the Ybor buildling room #111.
11. What if I have lost my parking decal?
Contact the Public Safety Office immediately and they will implement the process to assist you in obtaining a replacement decal.
12. Where can I park my motorcycle?
Motorcycle parking is available in the YVAB lot, YPST lot and the South lot. Motorcycles are not allowed in the Palm Avenue garage.

ALL FULL-TIME FACULTY AND STAFF ARE TO PARK IN THE HCC SURFACE LOTS. ALL PART-TIME STAFF, ADJUNCT FACULTY AND CONTRACTORS ARE TO PARK IN THE SOUTH AND NORTH LOT. HCC YPST AND YADM WILL BE AVAILABLE TO PART-TIME STAFF AND ADJUNCT FACULTY AFTER 4:30 PM.
