Vascular Plants
Vascular plants include all plants that contain vascular tissues (xylem and phloem) in their roots, stems, and leaves. Not all vascular plants, however, are seed plants. For example, ferns and their near relatives are not seed forming plants. There are two categories of seed plants: the Gymnosperms (cone plants) and Angiosperms (flowering plants). NOTE: The word strobilus refers to a cone.
