| Appendicular Skeleton
The skeletal system provides support, protection, and movement for the body. It consists of several tissues, including osseous (bone) tissue and various types of cartilages. These cartilages include hyaline, elastic, and fibrous cartilage. Both bone and cartilage are connective tissues.
The appendicular skeleton consists of these bones: bones of the arms and hands, legs and feet, and pectoral and pelvic girdles. Labeled photographs are provided to assist you with your review of the skeletal system.
