The appendicular skeleton consists of the bones of the pectoral (shoulder) girdle, pelvic (hip) girdle, arms, legs, hands, and feet.
The tibia is a large medial bone that is located in the lower leg. The anterior surface of the tibia has a large, rough lump called the tibial_tuberosity, which is the attachment point of the patellar_ligament. The inferior surface of the tibia articulates with the proximal bone of the ankle.
