Anatomy of the Heart
The heart is approximately the size of a fist and is located in the mediastinum of the thoracic cavity. It's muscular wall is known as the myocardium, and it is responsible for sending blood from the heart to and from the body, and from the heart to and from the lungs.
After reviewing the heart micrograph, your main responsibility for this particular lab will be the dissection of the sheep's heart. Several labeled photographs are provided to assist you with your dissection of the sheep's heart.
