Advising and Counseling

At the Ybor Campus, your success is our mission.  To that end, we have a staff of Academic Advisors and Counselors ready to assist you.

What is the difference between an advisor and a counselor?  Their responsibilities are described below:

 Advisors

 Counselors

  •  Can help you decide what classes to take.
  • Can assist you with petitions if you need to drop or withdraw from a class after the published deadline dates.
  •  Will do unofficial evaluations of prior college level work to determine whether or not you have met the prerequisites for any particular course.
  •  Will assist you with your academic appeals and with getting into classes if your GPA falls below 2.0.
  •  Will assist you with course substitutions.
  •  Will help you with a career choice.
  •  Can help you determine when you should apply for graduation.
  •  Can help you with test anxiety issues.
  •  Can help you find classes to take while you complete any preparatory classes.
